Gavin McCarthy, MA (Hons), BSc (Hons), MCSP

For the last 7 years Gavin has been one of the first team physios for an SPL club. Previously to the position he headed up the physio service for their Football Youth Academy. He also worked with the NHS and private practice prior to working in football. Understandably Gavin specialises in sports injuries, but also has a particular interest in spinal manipulation, tendon problems and acupuncture.

Prior to becoming a physiotherapist Gavin completed an economics degree and worked as an investment analyst in London for some time. In pursuit of a more worthwhile career he left the world of finance and qualified as a physiotherapist in 1996

Jim Law, BSc (Hons), MCSP

Having qualified in 1996 Jim spent the next six years combining NHS work with his roles as physio for Hull Rugby Football Club and Alloa Football Club. In 2002 he became Head Physio at Dundee Football Club who were enjoying a spell in the Premier League. Over the last four years Jim has returned to the NHS and resumed his position as physio for Alloa in their push for promotion. Jim has special interests in rehabilitation, golfing injuries and low back pain. He is also one of the few physios to be qualified in injection therapy which can be helpful in the treatment of many painful conditions.
