Podiatry

Podiatry now at PREMIER PHYSIO, Alloa

Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the study, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower leg.

Our Podiatrist Diane McMillan graduated from Queen Margaret University with an honours degree in 2000.  In addition to establishing her own private podiatry practice in Dollar, she worked for several years in an Edinburgh podiatry clinic where she specialised in biomechanics.  Diane was also an associate lecturer at Queen Margaret University until 2006 where her specialist podiatric roles included nail surgery and assisting in podiatric research.

The focus of all Diane's work is to provide a friendly and professional foot healthcare service.

Services

Routine Footcare - £22

This appointment is suitable for those who may have problems with their skin, nails or any general discomfort with their feet.  Treatment includes nail and skin care, corn and callous reduction and foot health check and advice.

Biomechanical Assessment - £45

Often the way we walk contributes to lower back, hip, knee and foot pain.  If such a problem is indicated then a biomechanical assessment is recommended.  This includes a comprehensive examination of the lower limbs involving the evaluation of the quality and range of motion of joints and muscles and a full gait analysis.  From the measurements taken you will be advised if orthotics or a rehabilitation programme will help you with your problem.

Orthotics/Insoles - Orthotics from £45 & Insoles from £30

Orthotics and insoles are prescribed to improve foot function and ease discomfort. A range of devices can be offered if it is found you could benefit from one.
